Everyday I/you read about people in need. The Ido folk were unfreaking believable in fund raising for Kaden’s Run. Actually, there are no words to describe what you guys did. None.
When Jesse Krook posted a while back about Maggie Brown well, it’s another heart wencher. I feel uncomfortable coming back to Ido folks to help raise funds, so I’m not.
I’m just going to post the info about the fund raiser at the Bluff’s Bar and Grill near Everts Resort.

Dear Friends,
On January 2, 2014, beautiful, sweet, 8-year-old, Maggie was diagnosed with a rare, aggressive, form of pediatric brain cancer. Her symptoms started suddenly the week of Christmas 2013, when she began having vomiting and issues with equilibrium. A local clinic trip led to a CT scan followed by an MRI at Mayo Rochester where they confirmed the gut wrenching news of a cancerous tumor located in Maggie’s brain stem.
Maggie immediately began 6 weeks of radiation therapy to help shrink the tumor. Surgery and chemotherapy are not options with this type of cancer.
Because the cancer is aggressive, specialty treatments are strongly encouraged, and her family is hoping to pursue this at Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh, PA in the coming month.
Maggie is the daughter of Colby and Heather (Reynolds) Brown of Ellsworth, WI.(both formerly of Hastings MN) She has 2 older brothers (Mark and Henry) and a younger sister (Ruthann). Maggie is a little girl that blesses all those she is around. Her smile and giggle are contagious. She loves art work and creating treasured pieces for her family and friends, riding her bike, and swimming. Maggie is a good student in school and loves being surrounded by all of her friends. She also likes playing store with siblings, hanging out with her cats and dogs, and collecting stuffed animals.
Maggie has taught us all how to love unconditionally, to laugh and find moments of fun, even during the daily drives to radiation.
She has amazed her family and friends with her ability to trust the process of care and treatments and take life one precious day at a time.
Family, friends, and loved ones are holding a benefit for Maggie on Saturday, June 14, 2014, at the Bluff’s in Hager City, WI starting at 2 p.m. to help with the medical expenses and provide further medical care for their long journey ahead.
We cannot help take away the pain they are experiencing, but we can help in other ways.
If you cannot attend but still want to help, you can donate to “Maggie Brown Fund” at any Wells Fargo Bank.
