I was thinking of taking the wife on a 4-5 day vacation up around the the Fish Creek area. Does anyone have any feedback on resorts or motels, activities or places that are a must see? I’m also thinking of taking a charter boat out for some salmon/trout fishing for 4-5 hours. Anyone have a recommendation? We don’t need a $ 250/ per night place to stay, but just a decent clean room. Apple Creek Resort caught my eye, but I’ve never been to the area.
A year or two ago my in-laws went salmon/trout fishing near Kawaunee and they used the charter http://www.gonefishin-charters.com. They had a great time. It looks like it’s about an hour south of the Fish Creek area, so I’m not sure if this is helpful or not. They said their boat was very comfortable and can accommodate for up to 6 people I think. Where ever you end up, it sounds like a beautiful area and will be a fun vacation!
I posed the same question a couple months back. I am meeting family there in August and still need to make motel and fishing reservations. The fishing advice I previously received did not pan out so I still need a reputable charter.
I would think Paul DeVaney would be helpful with the fishing part. I just booked a Salmon trip for June 14th in Milwaukee, pretty fired up.
