Blow out at 75 MPH on the tandem axle trailer. Boys were able to see a spare tire get put on in 35 minutes – they were always wondering what the extra tire was for. It is amazing how much damage the rubber causes to lights, etc as it is blowing apart…. The guys driveway that I pulled into turned into a perfect picnic and dandelion picking spot. Actually a pretty place to stop as the cars were flying past at 75 MPH north of Princeton.

Mille Lacs – is this now the dead sea. There was no one fishing this weekend from my 169 observation scan at 60 MPH. That is some sad outcome. What exactly happened up there?

Eddy’s – what is going to happen at this site? Demo looks complete

Boy Lake – wow – panfish mecca. Stayed the weekend and caught many LARGE crappies and several sunfish that actually took drag. Impressive fishery. Excellent fish fry fare.

I can hardly wait to go chase the SMB and LMB in this lake.

Drive home was uneventful. Nice sunburned faces and lots of bug bites – the skeet’s are bad this year. Very bad.,

Pool 4 was moderately busy with pleasure and fishing boats. Few tows as well. I was a little surprised there wasn’t more traffic because of the nice weather.

The walleye, sauger were biting well for all that were staying at Everts. White Bass are showing up here and there. Saw a few pike caught as well.

Erick and his crew had an awesome fish fry going by the talk on the beach the following morning. I hope Griz recovers soon.

We gave granddaughter Ella her first boat ride. I figured to Red Wing and back would be enough, but we made it back to the dam and up the the train bridge before it was time to go in. (good sign!).

I just had to drive my truck down into the receding water just to show Ma Nature she didn’t get the best of us. (knock on wood)

Jesse and I went to looking in some P-4 snags for some flatheads only to miss a wet rag and bring in a couple channel cats. Sudden Impact Fiber Bait brought in the 5 to 8 pound fish to the boat.

We met our new camper neighbors, Dave, Lynn and Lou Lou the sheltie.
Good folks although I think they fished for scaly fish all weekend. LOL!

It was a pretty darn good Memorial Day weather and fishing wise.

    Thank you vets!

That’s about as cute as it gets on Pool 4.
