Gutters are full. Streets here in New Hope are curb to curb and windshield wipers can’t keep up when driving. Looks like the rivers are going to get a fresh dose of run-off with more on the way inside the hour.

So much for the scattered light showers…..

I could just turn off my gas tank this morning without having to have hip boots on.

We covered a large part of Northern MN last weekend looking for some panfish. There was a lot of water everywhere we went. Whitecaps out in farmer’s fields, the ditches were full. Where I35 crosses the Snake the water was way up in the trees. The Kettle and the St. Louis were very high as well. Myrtle Lake near Orr was about 3 feet higher than it was at this time last year. The water was right to the top of the ramp.

St Paul is getting hammered. Guess an extension of slow/no wake on the Croix

Which means all the tuna boats will be on the Mississippi eroding the shoreline.

We’ve had some ellish downpours here in Woodbury and steady rain between them. Kiss the Croix goodbye this weekend. The no-wake will continue.

Yikes! Having a home inspected at 3:00. I guess we’ll find out if there are any water issues! I hope it is done by then so my inspector doesn’t have to climb on the roof in it.

We have some darkness upon us right now. No rain but lots of lightning and thunder with the storm tracking from SE to NW. Weird. Dead quiet too. I got dark enough that some of the street lights came on for a few seconds then went back off.

Now as I was typing it just cut loose with the rain. Nothing radical but raining pretty good.

So far…1.44 inches at the Airport in the last 6 hours. .88 in the last hour.

    Scattered showers they said…

Ya know, when I heard James was done filming for the season I just assumed the weather would turn for the better.

    Silly me.

So what name are the weather people going to make up to describe this? I was thinking spring vortex, but that is kind of scarier than it should be, although Lord knows they don’t mind trying to scare us.

We were supposed to get 1.5 – 2 inches up here today… we got a scattered drizzle instead. If we switch weather again tomorrow you guys should be seeing a few scattered thunderstorms, just a heads up

Lot of rain but not over a big enough area to have much effect on the river as far as the forecast shows. In kinda surprised it did have a little more effect than this. Will have to check it again later today.

Odd. We we are going out fishing today and given the choices, I told my nephew we might want to wait on a pool 2 cat trip. I figured this would have just bumped up the flow, if not the already high water.

It’s not updated yet Mike. Should be sometime this afternoon.

With 2+ inches of rain in and North of our area….it’s going up. Count on that.
