Fishing around Winona

I was hoping to head out fishing with a buddy this weekend in the Winona area but he said all the accesses are closed and flooded.

I was curious if anyone on here had any ideas on where we might be able to head out? Is there anyplace else nearby to go if the river is closed?

    Thanks!

I don’t have any info on the Winona area but if you can’t get out there come up to Lake Pepin. The walleye bite has been good and there’s no issues with access. See the Mississippi River forum for recent reports / additional info.

you can launch from Bass Camp just north of winona on hwy61. $7 fee. You can check the east end landing in winona or the Minnesota City boat club they both MIGHT be open. I do know Bass Camp as of yesterday was good to go and should still be this weekend. They didn’t have any plans to close the landing.

The East End landing should still be open. McNally landing is open as of today, it won’t be able take on too much more water though…

Awesome thanks! I’ll see if we can make a trek to Pepin.

I see the river @ winona today is @ 13.5 and forecaster to be 14.1 by Sat. Looks like the east end landing will be your best bet for pool 6 and Bass camp pool 5a. Good Luck.
