It’s just a TV bit. You’re right, there are many great ones. People form relationships with with employees/owners and become regular patrons just like many business’.
I think this was an award based on the public voting so probably many repeat voters. I have been to many including Artie’s and although I can think of better stores, Artie’s is nice. They need an after hours bait area since they don’t open until 8.

They said in the piece they have a 24 hour “honor system” bait kiosk.
