A boat carrying 5 souls reportedly anchored and fishing above L&D 14 went through the rollers. Sounds like their anchor line broke and they could not get the motor started to avoid this tragedy. 4 of the five either swan to shore or were rescued. Those 4 were all wearing PFDs. The fifth and owner of the boat was not. His body has not yet been recovered. Sad. If I knew how to post a link I would. Please be careful!

Yea I was there. Not good. I wasnt in the boat but fishing there. He was wearing a youth jacket. For those who know the area, they were fishing above the dam and were picked up over a mile downstream of the dam. One at campbles island and 3 south of alcoa on the IA side.
Sad deal for sure. Never good to loose a life.
