I haven’t been happy with my large RAM mount slipping while running across the lake so I decided to upgrade… After looking at everything that’s out there I decided to go with a product from a relatively new company called BalZout. I’ll report back and let you know how I like it after running the boat through a few waves.

I’ve never used one of them but I’ve heard those are legit.

Hopefully better than your seat and console.

Seriously though, I am anxious for your review. I have the same feelings about my RAM mount.

Looks nice. Now we are waiting for the report on how good it holds up.

No, I plan on leaving the mount on my boat and removing the screen using the two knobs on the the side. Easier removal is one area where the RAM mount is nice.

It probably won’t be until mid-June before I’ll have a chance to really put it through the paces… I’ll be spending all of June fishing shallow and don’t expect to do any long runs in waves.

I have non-Ram mounts and have problems with them not holding the larger locators in place. Are you saying RAM mounts have the same issues? I was planning on switching to them.

So you’re saying even the 2 1/4″ balls are slipping?

If you don’t need the unit elevated the Johnny Ray’s are solid.

Yep. With my 10″ graph I’ll have to stop at least 3-4 times on my way to flats if it’s wavy. Using a little sand paper yo scuff the ball does help, but if you’re pounding waves I don’t know if there’s a way to keep them from slipping.

Maybe if you had a glass boat… J/K

I have mine mounted on the large RAM’s in a “z” like fashion with w rubber stopper under the unit. When I get a chance I will drop an image on here.

Those mounts are legit. I grew up with the guys that manufacture them down here in Missouri. I going to change my units over to them this spring.
