IDO recon needed in Woodbury. Did Cabelas open?

IDO’ers we need the immediate dispatch of a IDO Recon Team to Woodbury! Urgent, repeat, URGENT.

Cabela’s may have just opened.

I just got an email from a friend who drove by there this AM on his way to a dentist appointment. He said more cars than usual were in the parking lot and people that were’t dressed in the usual Cabela’s uniform like employees were going in and out.

Granted, it could be some employee training or just some last minute construction/finishing rush.

I know the “Grand Opening” isn’t scheduled for a week or so, but people who worked at Rogers told me that when that store opened, they opened up about a week before the grand opening to get the employees and the store up and running before the big rush.

Can anyone confirm? Over.

I think I read somewhere they were opening May 14th or 15th..

Damn, tell me it’s not so. I don’t think I can come up with a good work excuse to get down to Woodbury/Hudson today but once recon mission is complete, I may have to really search deep.

I’ve searched for the phone number and haven’t found it yet and I don’t know about the masses but I for one will not be boycotting Cabelas…..

That’d be a “not” for me. I don’t hold Cabela’s any more responsible for the politics and actions of the ML Band than I do the company who’s supplying the Casinos with toilet paper.

Now back to the topic at hand.

I have to believe there will be a soft opening prior to the grand opening. Let’s hope! An IDO post if/when that happens would be appreciated by those of us who don’t frequent the area.

I was just in Fleet Farm last night. Joe’s sends me Christmas Cards, and why wouldn’t they? Luckily for me, the card didn’t tip Mrs. Grouse off to just how much I spent on that Browning double.

Cabelas will do a soft opening. Typically it’s been special invitees such as cabelas card holders, vendors & family. I’m not scheduled there, but I have worked a number of the openings between wisconsin and colorado.
Plus, a couple weeks before openibbg, team members from other stores across the country come in and work with the new staff. Over all I think cabelas does a great job in preparing for an opening

They will be opening on the 15th. They will have a friend’s and family opening night before and one night for cabelas club members. Then opening on the 15th.

BK make some copies and sell/scalp a few for the early night openers.

I got my invite in the mail yesterday.
It says bring this card AND YOUR Cabela’s Club Visa card
to gain access to the preopening Opening.
May 14th 9am- 9pm.

Brian when you are making copies of your invite to give away, make sure you include a copy of your Cabelas Visa too.

My request for one was just shut down by cust serv.

Seems wrong after over 35 years of business that I wouldn’t be invited to a new store so close to my house but there’s probably a million guys with a similar story. Oh well.
