Another boneheaded play by Suter on the PP. Wild still took it to them after. Didn’t hang their heads. Nice response.

Again Avs getting all the calls. Either no call or send 1 from each off. Coyle just got punched after the horn. No call.

Game 7 baby! Can the young Avs handle the pressure?

Call the Dr I strained my back on the empty netter when I slipped on the carpet in the basement.

    Playoff hockey!

New superstition. I need to hold the remote all game.

I find it hard to call that a bone headed play, bad play, unfortunate play, muffed up play, ok, but it’s hard to say boneheaded when you’re talking about Suter

Wild win! finally they jam one up the Avs backside by making them pay for the empty net.
The roar after the first empty net goal was incredible.

It was boneheaded. You need to get the puck deep when someone is coming out of the box. Even if he had gotten a hold of it, it could have just as easily lead to a break had the guy who passed to Stastny blocked the shot. That’s why goalies tap their sticks on the ice.

Even Ryan Suter can make a boneheaded play.

I guess you’re right, He should’ve known the time was up on the first penalty. Obviously, I was up too late AGAIN….. These late nights are going to be the death of me yet. Alarm at 5 AM stinks!!

I thought the officials did a pretty good job last night, watching from my couch.

Beautiful win, love game 7’s. Go Wild.

I wouldn’t say I was right on a judgment call or something that is subjective. There are a lot of things going on. Maybe he didn’t hear Keumper slapping his stick or maybe Keumper didn’t even bother slapping his stick.

Lets face it, for what Suter does, even if it was a mistake, he’s allowed. What a joke he isn’t a Norris candidate. Shea Weber? Give me a break.

It wasn’t the shambles that Game 5 was, but there were still notable no-calls. Grandlund got dragged down with a hook in the 3rd period, but because it was away from the puck, no call. I’m sure they would have called it had it been Grandlund with the puck, but that’s the point. The worst officiating is inconsistent officiating. The refs, again, were obviously choosing to make only “game impact” calls rather than calling the game.

I will say that there were no bad calls against the wild, the calls that happened really were penalties.

A couple of funny lines that were shouted out of the crowd last night at the game:

@Darcy Kuemper. He came out of the goal to stop a slow dump shot meant to give the Avs a change. A huge cry of “SHOOT!” went out from the crowd.

Then some guy way at the yelled during a quite period after that play, “C’mon Darcy! You gotta take that shot!”

You could see Kuemper’s head shake as he laughed, he totally heard that.

@Heatly when he cut off an Avs stretch pass. “Way to go Heatly, that was worth $7 million right there!”

@the beginning of the third period, score tied at 2, the refs were fixing the ice during a commercial timeout and somebody way up in the back yells:

“C’mon Wild. Did we surrender when the Germans bombed Perl Harbor?”

And the crowd replied with a huge, “NO!”

That got a big laugh and a round of applause.

@Patrick Roy – After the Wild scored 2 empty netters and Varlamov was put back in, the crowd started chanting “Pull the Goalie! Pull the Goalie!”

Just an electric atmosphere. After that first empty net goal to seal the win, the roar lasted for 3 or 4 minutes. It was obvious the players couldn’t hear the whistle.

That would have been a heckuva game to have attended.

Speaking of Heatley, he’s quietly having a good series. He’s a +2. Relax, I am not saying sign him. I still get nervous when he is out there.

Yeo is out? That would be a shocker. Where exactly did you hear that?

Yeo still must go. Hopefully, the Leopold doesn’t make the mistake of assuming that a successful playoff run was because of Yeo instead of in spite of Yeo.

Just compare Yeo vs Roy. If you look at it terms of COACHING impact on the game, Roy is setting trends already that the rest of the league is following. Who was pulling their goaltender with >3 minutes remaining? Correct answer is nobody until Roy started doing it successfully. Now everybody’s talking about remaking their sans-goalie offense.

And what’s the Yeo trend? The strategic use of the healthy scratch? Wow. Game changer.

The Vanek situation is interesting. I have a feeling he COULD end up in a Wild sweater, but I don’t have any idea how they would find the salary to make it happen. The Wild would have to trade or shed at nominal cost a bunch a players. I’m not sure of the individual contract situations, but Heatly, Cooke, Backstrom, and a few others come to mind. Problem is, I think to afford Vanek and NOT have to trade an A-grade player, would be a real challenge.

I think the thing the Wild have going is assembling a core of players who WANT to play here. The Prasie/Suter deal is a perfect example. Does Vanek WANT to be here? If he does, a deal may be possible.

    oooooh.

Come on Grouse. Patrick Roy suddenly is the first coach to pull a goalie early?

Yeo has made several good moves. No amount of discussion is going to change your mind, but unfortunately for you, he’s going to be around a while.

So pulling the goalie with 3 minutes left is trend setting coaching…LOL…

I’d like to give Roy credit for actually out coaching Yeo for the 1st time in series last night, with maybe game 1 a push in that department.
But I have a sneaking suspension it was more to do with getting there best player back.
I didn’t realize Matt Duchene was that awesome, wow what a player and different team they are with him in the line-up.

And for the record I could care less if whinny Minnesota fans run another coach out of town. In hockey its 99 percent on the players.

Whats the worst that could happen to Yeo?

He follows in the Todd Richards model who we ran out of town and coach’s the US Olympic team LOL and takes a crappy Columbus Blue Jackets team to the play-offs.

About the only coaches I would like to have here are Jacques Lemaire and Ramsey.

But that isn’t going to happen so I don’t really care a whole lot.

Unfortunately guys 4-2 Lanche in game 7 see ya next year Wild fans!!!.
