I bought a used Ranger with a trailer that has the cool oil orbital lubricant for the axles.
What is the appropriate maintenance for these?
How often do you change the oil, is it supposed to be at least 1/2 full when you see it through the cap, etc.
    Any maintenance suggestions are appreciated

It’s kind of potato, potahto, but I use the Lucas (brand) Hub Oil in mine. It’s recommended for these systems as it’s supposed to prolong seal life and reduce leaks. The over the road guys use it in the fronts of their rigs and they put tons of miles on between changes

Better minds than mine can tell me, but I sometimes wonder if synthetic lubes aren’t “too slick”. My ’10 Chev 5.3 went from a quart every 3000 towing miles to a quart every 800-1000, also towing with Amsoil.jerr

You can google up the manual for the hubs >>> “Trailer Buddy Gold” They state full – no air.

But I’ll agree, if you have at least 1/3 full, the bearings will get lubed and you will likely never have a problem either way.

In my opinion, keeping them full keeps water or any type of moisture out of the system.

The point of the video is to show how easy it is to switch out the lube.

ya its weird …. semi trucks usually use a oil bath in there wheel bearings and there always half full to allow for expansion when the oil gets warmer/hot……I run mine full and haven’t had a problem….
