Stop with all the snow!!! Once it starts to melt we will have high water almost all summer long. There has been weeks with high water that the cor-of-engr shut the river down in the pass. With high water you know that there will be flooding. So get mad and generate some heat and melt it slowly. We were lucky here with last snow, the bad stuff went to west of us and the south east.

4″ in Lakeland this morning with about an inch of wet slush under that.

Still snowing but should be about over just in time for some Pool 4 activity in the 40 degree weather this weekend!

Over the next two weeks the forecast is for the Mississippi to crest with a 10% chance of reaching just below flood stage.

Unless we get a few inches of rain, it’s going to be an awesome spring as far as the river goes.

Dont think there is much chance of major flooding around the twin cities. Snow like this doesnt add up to much other than a pain to move and drive in. Think down your way maybe you guys get more of a combined effect off all the water coming down the rivers.

I have been watching the Minnesota gauge at Mankato, and it is going to take something Biblical to get that river anywhere close to flood stage this year.

There is a little window here where if we get some heavy rain, it could change things (flood outlook), but not likely.
