I was lucky enough to get out on pool 4 last night with a fellow IDO’er. Got home at about ten with a sandwich I picked up on the way home. Very hungry and tired I got a cooler out of the back of my Suburban grabbed my food and went inside. Got up at six this morning and looked out the window and there’s my truck, back liftgate open wide open, light on ten feet from the street. Inside you ask? My new St. Croix Legend tourney with a stradic C14, another St. Croix, small tackle bag, air compressor, new pair of bibs and a battery charger.

    Everything still safe and sound

Had a similar situation getting back from a late-night fishing trip a few years ago, except that I left the overhead garage door (detached garage) open with my boat, lots of fishing gear, and plenty of other goodies in it. I couldn’t believe that I didn’t lose anything.

Sometimes I think when things are open…. left totally exposed in an area people are not looking to steal from, they are the most safe. Lock it up, park near a boat landing, unattended, and they just come looking.

Isn’t it sad that we consider ourselves lucky if we don’t loose anything? Kinda sad it has came to this!

I live right next to a “HOmeless” house. Last week i left my truck unlocked, had my auger, marcum, 898cSI Bird/genz box, and about $3,000 in tackle all in the passenger seat. Thank the lord it was all still there

Sure is sad you can’t trust the public anymore.

It is sad, HOWEVER, it was all there this morning. I mean the back of the truck was ten feet from the street wide open and lit up! Maybe it looked as though someone was packing.

Very well, extremely impressed. What I was afraid of happened, it’s going to be hard to use the others!

I wasn’t surprised, just felt fortunate. I think I would have had the same feeling no matter where I lived.
I love my neighborhood, been in this house 26 years.

Since you are feeling so lucky, you could post your address and do the same thing tonight to see how your luck is holding.

If I did that the person that tried to take advantage of it would have to be very lucky!

    belletaine,
The reality of it is that you didn’t have anything I wanted. When I stopped and started to put them into my truck, I noticed they weren’t Hardy Zane fly reels/rods, so I put them back. By the tone of your post, I assume I put everything back as how you left it.
