I have been wanting to fish these lakes for quite some time here and this summer is it we are doing it. Wondering if anyone has been up and fished either of these lakes? Does anyone have any favorite resorts? I think we might just tent it with the family but its not out of the question for a cabin either. I was at the sports show today but no wis resorts there? Any input would be great!

I not sure if there are any resorts on the LCO, but the Chippewa Flowage is loaded with them. The CC bridge spans the East vs. West on the lake. So if you know if you are fishing certain areas or driving certain places by vehicle that may be able to help you narrow it down.

Ive got a cabin on Grindstone (right next to LCO) and I’ve never had much success on anything but bass in the lakes. The water is very clear so your best fishing will always come at sun up or down. I did fish the Chippewa flowage for a whole week a few years ago and we did well on the perch and bass, nothing much outside of those. Great muskie lakes from what i hear though!

Take this with a grain of salt as im very inexperienced these lakes, goodluck to you and please report!

Anglers Haven is a great resort on LCO, awesome pizza, not sure about prices? There are plenty of places to choose from on the chip. I’ve spent some time chasing muskies on LCO with not much luck, as stated the water is very clear.

On the Flowage, we have stayed at Johnsons resort for 24 years. Great place and Great people. Treelands is also a very nice resort on the Flowage. If your looking to camp, The Campgrounds on the Flowage is a great place to stay. Central location and a great swimming area for the kids.

I haven’t been there recently. But this place is getting known for fishing and as per information a bunch of species are floating around the lakes. You will find this place nice for fishing.

Oh and Im not sure if the Treeland is still the place to be on the chip, but it was about 10 years ago! Favorite memories as a kid were all there… great time for the family (if thats what youre looking for).

I would certainly second Anglers on LCO and Treelands on the Chip… Not sure of any others on LCO. But the Chip has many of them!!! The fishing, depending on the time of the year could should be good on either of them… If you get to summer time on LCO, I think you can troll suspended walleyes, humps to jig or rig, etc… The Chip is much more wood/bog related… Slip bobbers and casting cranks… Not sure if you can troll on da Chip…
