It looks like the Rainy river will not happen this year so I’m thinking about headed to Pierre or Chaimberlain instead. I have never been to either, so for you that have, what are your thoughts. Which place? What to expect?

Never been there this time of year, but it looks like Chamberlain area gets more nods. Their weather looks good too.

It was a tough bite early last week. Fished N or Chamberlain.
We didn’t get any help from mother nature. Cool to cold
    and very windy; as usual.

Typical spring bite. One day it was good but the fronts
    kept on rolling trough.

We ate fish and brought fish home. Life is good

Remember if you go to Oahe, its back to normal regulations. 4 daily and 8 position. A lot of fish was taken out last year with that 8 daily and 24 position limit. I know there lots of smaller fish being caught. I would suggest if its windy to fish below the dams with heavier jigs with minnow to stay vertical in the faster current. The walleye will be stacked up below the dams and the first couple deeper pools down stream. Plain lead heads have been the best color. Hope this helps
