In Need of a ride

    Our family will be fishing at Rainy Lake in July. We would like my son’s GF to join us for a long weekend. She can take the Mega Bus from Chgo to MPls on Thur. July 17th. She would arrive Mpls. around 6 am. We are looking for a way to get her from Mpls. to Rainy on that Thur. Anybody going up that way or have any ideas? I know I can post on CL but I know my friends here always have great ideas. She is a very intelligent, 23 year old professional who will be traveling light (we can bring her gear). Ideas????????

    If she has her driver’s license take the safe approach and have her rent a car.

    Yep. I rented a vechicle to go up to the bwca and haul gear. It was extremely affordable if you look on priceline for the best deal. Saved me the headache of worrying about my own car being unattended too!

    I think as a father of a daughter, you need to take the safe route is right, rent a car and send her north. You should be able to find renting an economy car would be well worth it. I agree with the other guys.

    The other option is to have one or two of you drive down to pick her up and drive back.

    Have her fly from Chitown to International Falls. Pick her up at the airport.

    Delta has $340 round trip tickets. $200 one way.

    If you take the rental car route make sure to shop around. A lot of rental companies really jack up the rates for drivers under the age of 25.

    I’d drive back from rainy to pick her up before I’d arrange a ride on a website!!

    I’m sure she can take care of herself, but I wouldn’t want anyone I know arranging a ride with a stranger on CL. I’d probably trust some of the guys I know on here, but not everybody that is for sure! That Pug guy just creeps me out!
