I have a question about betting on the roulette wheel. I was betting on my numbers that I like and was winning but, there was a guy doing a whole lot better than me. He was playing column bets, red or black, even or odd. Also on some numbers once in a blue moon.
Now my question. If he is winning more often than me is it ok to let him bet first and then place a bet on his bet and follow him. I’m not a big gambler but usely win enough money back to go every so often. Just for fun.

Last time I was in Vegas I played just like he did. Your stack will grow slow but at least it grows. I don’t remember, if you did that then do you split the pot?

Roulette is fine for fun, but not a long term winner. I know some will agrue with me, but there is no strategy at all. Just watch out for sucker bets where the odds arent even (excluding the 0 or 00 spots that provide the house edge).

There was a Cheating Vegas episode where people spent days logging the result on the wheels and found some trends and were able to beat the house. It worked until the casinos caught on and swapped wheels.

I like it because it is a laid back social game. When the wife and I were in Vegas last we were up about $500 for the time we spent at the wheel.

Look up exponential betting…basically start bet at minimum and only bet 1 color. If you win, re bet min, if you lose double it….after every win you return to minimum bet. Ends up having to be red/black like 7 times in a row for your system to be busted though(you cannot double again due to table limits). About 3% chance of that happening I think.

It’s kind of like counting cards though…legal but frowned upon by casinos. You are not going to get rich and it’s definitely not as fun as betting the single numbers, but its prob the best way to maximize your “odds”
