We have ice fished Winnie for a number of years lately on Tamarack Bay. I am looking for a resort on or near Tamarack Bay. I would be interested in people’s experience with Tamarack Lodge, The Pines and Williams Narrows. Do they have heated fish cleaning facilities, condition of cabins, road systems, personalities of owners. Thanks for sharing or PM me if you prefer.

I have not stayed on Winnie for Ice fishing but have stayed for open water with Tamarack Lodge and Williams Narrows. Both were very friendly and clean cabins. Nicer cabins at Williams but more $$ also. Williams has a small bar Tamarack does not. Not sure about ice fishing out of Williams as far as lake access? Tamarack being right on the lake might be a better option but not sure.

FYI a lot of places on Winnie are booked up for majority of the year and once mid June hits almost all of them go to week rentals only until labor day. If your going to book something you need to look right now! From talking to a bunch of resorts a month ago while trying to book cabins it seems there business is booming with what’s going on at Mille Lacs.

We stay at Iowana resort on Portage Lake easy drive to Winnie older, but clean cabins, awesome owner. Good value.

I’ve stayed at Tamarack and Williams Narrows several times. My group is committed to Williams Narrows Resort now. We prefer the owners, bobbers bar for pizza and beer, secluded bay for boats and the overall experience. However our trips are always after opener and can’t speak for ice gushing. Pete

Never been to any of the three you mentioned, but will offer up what I know about the one I know.
High Banks: not right on Tamarack Bay, but just around the point from it.
Heated Fish Cleaning Room (with attached Shower Stall)
    Good Roads
    Great People

Gosh dam place or little winnie resort were always open in the winter.

Cheap places and at Gosh dam you have your bar(actually that might have been a hindrance a time or two for our crew) and restaurant right there. Not on the lake, but darn close drive.
