Ok guys I am lost here. I bought a new trolling motor but it needs to be elevated about an inch to make it useable. I dont want to use wood. What is the easy solution here? Whatever I use needs to be approw 8″x12″and 1″ thick. I am a machinist but aluninum is just too expensive. Any help would be greatly appreciated!! Thanks

PVC, delrin, or some other type of plastic or composite?

That was going to be my suggestion….no, wood I get it but was the reason for looks as well? Trex or the “plastic wood” same as fiberglass composite so it won’t rot, but it’ll be a little heavier and you might be able to find it in a color that matches the transom to blend in a little more.

    This worked for me.
Cut 1″ long 1/2″ schedule 40 pvc electrical or plumbing pipe and use it for spacers between motor and boat. Use the spacer between each bolt holding trolling motor to the boat. I used this method to level my motor. You could also use aluminum pipe for a spacer.

Go to fleet farm, buy, 2 lengths of 1 inch square aluminum tubing, mark where bolt holes go, drill, cut to length and bolt down.

My bow mount needed to be raised a 1″ to get it where I wanted it. I ended up buying the quick disconnect plate and fabricating one corner of it. Raised it about 1 1/2 and looks great. Also is now removable if needed…
