Where to Buy Large Sized Mirrors

I am remodeling a bathroom and may replace the mirror since it has some backing missing. Its 6.5 x 3.5 feet in size. Does that need to be cut custom? Should it be delivered or can I chance transporting glass that size? Where would I get such a thing? Any idea on cost? I have been banging my head over this for days. I know IDO folks here can make short work of my quandary. Thanks.

X2 I’ve had good service at White Bear Glass. I have bought mirrors half that size at Menards and framed them myself, not sure the largest they sell.

Minneapolis Glass Company is who we have used in the past.

I replaced two 6×4 foot mirrors last year and want to say it was around $300 total. Went through Designed Glass in Burnsville. I installed and picked them myself so that saved some $

I have used Glass & Mirror Incorporated on White Bear Avenue in Maplewood for both mirrors and architectural shower glass. They either have or can get anything you want. Both service and installation was excellent.

Considering what the mirror is going to cost you, I would ask them for a quote for delivery at least and IMO installation as well. A piece of work like this, considering the cost and potential issues, I’d strongly consider making it somebody else’s problem. And this comes from a mainly DIY guy.

Be sure you don’t order a “fun house” style mirror. Wives seldom have a sense of humor when it comes to mirrors.

    Brian –

Is the fun house mirror the one you have over your bed? I have heard that they can make little things look bigger, etc.
