Tanner Goods

Now we’re getting somewhere! Have you bought anything from this outfit? They look great online.
I’ve had Columbia, Fossil, Cole, and a bunch of other swish brands that Mrs Grouse bought me. The belts, especially those for dress clothes only last a year or less because the outer layer strats to crack and peel around the buckle. They all seem to be made with a cheap vinyl coating to make them shiny and that top layer cracks and looks terrible, so in the trash the belt goes.
I always use a trifold wallet, and they last a year before they look like hell. All brands seem to be about the same.
It seems to be easier to get a casual/field clothing belt. Filson works great for this. Real leather dress clothing belts seem really hard to find.
BTW, I’m so anal retentive I put leather conditoner on all my belts, watch straps, shoes, etc, a couple of times a year. Doesn’t matter for the cheap belts, doesn’t seem to do a thing to prolong life.
I think I might order up a belt from that Tanner Goods and try them, but they have to be made to order. Prices seem pretty reasonable, maybe a little too good to be true. Is this stuff really handmade? Wonder how long it takes to get one?

March 23, 2014 at 8:19 am #1398527The every 10 years or so I take a trip to Mexico, I try to buy a belt there. Good quality, handmade, solid leather belts can be found there for under $20. Wallets will probably be a little more.

You must be the “man bag” type then. Something to keep your lip gloss in.

I always laugh when I see someone walking around with their pants on the ground- pants on the ground. Pretty 2010-ish
March 24, 2014 at 8:06 am #1398730I have a Filson belt that is somewhere between 8-10 years old and looks as good as the day that I got it. Well worth the $$

You must be chuckling at 97% of the male population over the age of 18.
When you move out of your parent’s basement, hitch up your low-riders, and get a job, suddenly you may find that they expect you to wear business-appropriate clothing. For the last couple of centuries, that has included a belt.
I suppose I could always keep my money and credit cards in my sock. Or are socks out of style as well?

I have a son in law that is very proud that he never carries cash, thus a thin wallet. Pisses me off on the occasions when cash is required and he acts like he doesn’t know what to do…March 24, 2014 at 1:23 pm #1398871Duluth Trading. high quality everything. Great customer service too.
March 24, 2014 at 1:49 pm #1398881My son is like that too, although years ago I tried to tell him he needs to carry some cash,license,I.d.in a wallet that keeps your sh%* organized. Now when he is asked for any of the above and struggles I just tell him, I TOLD YOU SO YOU FOOL.
