I was looking back at some photos from last year, and this one really makes me miss the boat. There is nothing better than the alarm clock going off at 5 am on Saturday mornings like this. Anyone have any pictures that they find themselves looking at to get them through this long cold winter?

There is nothing finer than a sunrise over Lake Superior in the summer.

Here’s another one take the next morning about 6 minutes later than the first pic. The only time I have seen the sky redder was in Hawaii.

Is there anything better than getting up in the summer when it is twilight out and everything is still. Then as the sun rises and the birds are chirping, there is that short window where the fish are aggressive in the shallows. My favorite time to fish.

X2! I love getting on the water at the cabin before sunrise. The serenity can’t be described.

I sleep like a rock and sleep in, however I am able to wake up at the cabin before sunrise on limited sleep. That’s how much my mind and body enjoys that time.

A few shots from our place in Kandiyohi County. I’m really longing for some lakeshore nights around the bonfire.
