The last 2 years we have had a Cardinal that keeps attacking our windows. Didn’t bother so me much last year because he spent most of his time at the neighbors windows but this year he seems to dislike our windows more. Is this a normal things for Cardinals to do? If he keeps it up I will be training the cat to kill.

This went on all last summer. Does that mean we have a shortage of female Cardinals or that none of the females want him? Also he hits every window even the basement and ones under the deck.

They are highly territorial all year. That’s why unless your feeder is on a border, you’ll only see 1 pair and maybe the kids for a short time late in the year. He’s definitely mad at his reflection. Must not be too bright either, because I have never seen a cardinal do that.

maybe, if you’re lucky, he’ll be successful in chasing himself away

Had one do it for a couple years.Would leave little blood streaks on the glass.I ended up putting a white bag on the window to get it to stop.
Between it banging on the window from the outside and the cat banging from inside it was hard to have a relaxing morning in our kitchen.

I had a robin doing this last year to my sons windows. As soon as the sun was up it began and went most of the day. I was not happy to but had to deal with the situation as it went on for numerous days.

You “took care of it”. I read ya.

We had one doing the same thing to our house last summer. The reflection theory makes sense to me. This robin stopped before I had to bust a cap.

You can easily buy window sticker in the shape of a predator bird like owls… I was under the impression this strategy works
