I have always bought locally and usually try to support smaller businesses but I can’t seem to find a price near what I can online for my new graph. The online shopping deal for me is all new. Is PayPal the way to go or is it ok to use your credit card?

If you want to buy locally, stop in to Capras in Blaine and talk to Greg. He`ll set you up with the right stuff, and he might even be able to tell you what they might sell for at the show. I help out Capras with some of the sport shows, so I know the routine!March 2, 2014 at 11:33 am #1393080I’ve never used Paypal but have used my credit card online many many times without a glitch. I order stuff online and pick up at the store quite often. I find many times it’s easier to find what I’m looking for, read the specs and order. I do this a lot with Lowes. It also prevents me from walking around and buying things impulsively.
Bottom line-yes I feel safe.esox23Posts: 37March 2, 2014 at 11:52 am #1393085I’ve used every form of payment I have used check card credit card PayPal. I prefer paypal but honestly I really don’t care, these days you are more vulnerable at a local store using your card in person. I’d pay online any day.
March 2, 2014 at 12:05 pm #1393089I never use my debit/check card online. Since it is tied to your checking account it can be drained if your info is stolen. Credit cards give you much better security and provide the best protection if someone racks up a bunch of stuff on your card it’s a lot easier to dispute and your not out any of your own money.
March 2, 2014 at 12:05 pm #1393091They are both secure as long as you use a credit card and not a debit card. If something was to go wrong, you can dispute it with paypal or your credit card co and get your money back. Just make sure you take note of all communication and info in case something goes wrong.. its all evidence for a dispute case.
I personally choose paypal whenever possible.

X2 I really like PayPal Bill me Later is another good way to pay online.
March 2, 2014 at 12:59 pm #1393109I use both, but I do like using PayPal when it’s a website that I won’t be ordering from much, a newer company, or also on eBay since it’s the preferred method of payment among most eBay sellers. It’s a good rule of thumb though to monitor your PayPal account and credit card accounts just in case.
March 2, 2014 at 2:45 pm #1393125Credit Card for me. I don’t use PayPal just because it would be another account I would have out there in the wild and I don’t see any benefit that would make it worth my while.
March 2, 2014 at 2:48 pm #1393126Well I finally caved. I have 998 HD si bird on it’s way to my door.
March 2, 2014 at 4:55 pm #1393168You can register your credit cards with Paypal and then when it comes time to pay for something, use one of the cards instead of a bank draft. If on Ebay, you still get the buyer protection.

You can use paypal to pay for anything without even having a paypal account. Just enter your credit card through paypal (during paypal checkout just select the “do not have paypal account” option). You’ll still get the buyer protection even if you do not have a paypal account, and the seller cannot have access to your CC number. Otherwise, yes you have to enter your CC to paypal now to be a “confirmed” member, or to accept over $250 through paypal per month.
March 5, 2014 at 1:33 pm #1394085I use my Cabelas VISA for just about everything. They will call and verify if they see suspicious activity on the card. Never had a problem.
I use VISA gift cards for any out of county order. You can purchase these at any bank for the amount of the charge. (No cost to you) Make the order then toss the card. If anyone tries to use that VISA number again, the transaction fails. Only downside is the company you are dealing with cannot credit your card for a refund. You need to wait for a paper check via snail mail.
