The family is heading to Chicago for spring break. We are thinking of stopping a day ot 2 at Wisc. Dells on either the way there or on the way back. Its been well over 20 years since my last trip to Wisc. Dells. Looking for lodgeing idea’s and things to do while there. We will be there sometime between March 21- 31st. Not my Ideal Spring break but we are way over due for a Visit to my Brother In-law who lives in Chicago.

Wilderness is one of the nicer ones, but I don’t really like that the indoor water parks are broke up and in different buildings. Chula Vista is pretty good.

February 27, 2014 at 1:10 pm #1392250If you have not been there in 20 years boy are you in for a shock!!! It is amazing how much bigger it is. Have fun and take a lot of money with you. Casino just south of town.

x2. Never have to leave the hotel with the many restaurants/bars that are onsite. Make sure to hit the wave pool!

X3.
We have rented a condo a few times and were very pleased. Call for a shuttle that comes to pick you up att the condo to deliver you to the park of your choice.
February 27, 2014 at 1:23 pm #1392259Rivers edge Resort. It gives you that family owned touch. Nice cabins great place to eat, bait shop and at that time I would believe some good fishing from shore in that Immediate area. They also have boat rentals. I believe they also have meal specials that go along with the cabins and rooms.

If the kids want the water park experience Wilderness is my pick. Bring the bucks with you it isn’t a cheap place to stop.
February 27, 2014 at 1:25 pm #1392262If your bringing a boat to the wilderness, park in the big lot out in front of the check in at night. That lot has 24/7 surveillance cameras

All adults… kids, interest?
Wife , I and 10 year old daughter. Just somethings fun. I think I better leave the fishing gear behind. Spring break is most likely the only vacation time that I don’t spend time fishing.
February 27, 2014 at 3:19 pm #1392324I think Kalahari is the nicest, but it’s also the most expensive. They also have a nice indoor theme park (for an additional cost). Wilderness is the biggest and it’s nice, but as mentioned, the walk from waterpark to waterpark gets old. We usually go to Mt. Olympus since it seems to be the best value and also usually the cheapest (sometimes by a significant amount). They have a single indoor waterpark and the indoor theme park is included with your stay where they have a roller coaster, bumper cars, go carts and a couple few other things.. If you stay there, opt for the hotel since it’s attached to the waterpark. While you’re in the Dells, check out buffalo phils. Your daughter will get a kick out of the train delivered food. Guessing a lot of the tourist attractions will still be closed down for the winter so there won’t be a lot of other things to do.
February 27, 2014 at 4:36 pm #1392344X2 for Kalahari. My sister’s family goes there quite a bit in the winter with the kids and they like this one the best. We grew up about 30 miles from there and that place was always growing.
February 28, 2014 at 6:01 am #1392424I would stay at Rivers edge resort, great place and close to the river and great scenery. The food is out standing and great folks we used to live just down the road. Then you could go to any of the water park places that is in the area.
