I want to say something but I think it pretty much has been said. Did you hear them talking about Suter’s ice time compared to the Blues?? That should tell some body something is wrong.

I know hindsight is 20-20, but I was disappointed when the blues landed Hitchcock as their coach….turns out I was a genius.

Fontaine is tied for 3rd on the team in goals his rookie season, despite playing in 25% less games than everyone else. There is no reason for him to be in the pressbox with a +6 when Heatley is -18 and has scored less goals than him.

The is EXACTLY the situation that I’m talking about. NO coach that knows what he’s doing is going to healthy scratch his #3 goal scorer and re-scramble the lines yet again to do so.

What the hell is Yeo doing? The answer is that neither he nor anybody else knows.

Yes, yes, yes, the coach is only one part of the picture and he doesn’t get on the ice and make plays. We’ve all heard that excuse a million times before, but we are now at the point where no one can deny that Yeo IS part of the problem with this team.

So here’s the Wild’s Playoff Run Fix-It List:

    #1 Yeo must go.
#2 Wherever Yeo goes, Heatly can drive him there. And not come back.
#3 Koivu. Pull you thumb out.
#4 Stop the line musical chairs and stop screwing around with healthy scratches and killing player momentum.
#5 Quit worrying about the goaltending situation. It is what it is and the old “ride a hot goaltender through the playoffs” theory only works if your OFFENSE can score goals. Nobody every won even a single playoff game by scoring 0 goals.

Obviously, the Wild need some other pieces. They’re lacking some beef that can match up against physical teams, etc, etc, but that’s an off-season problem to solve.

They got 2 torpedoes in them and a third coming towards them. Looks bleak for a sinking ship. They must kill that third torpedo.

Watching three blues players beating on one wild player, where is the team unity in that? How do you skate back to the bench and look at your supposed teammates? And what the he77,is going on in the coaches mind?
Then they outplay you short handed.
    That was pathetic.

I was ready to fold the tent had they lost today. Good win that hopefully sends the Coyotes into a downward spiral. They were not happy after the game, but they lost fair and square.

Nice to see Heater in the press box.

When did we become a tough guy team? We actually stood up for ourselves and our goalie. Seems like a few weeks ago they could have sprayed our goalie and we would have looked the other way.

Wow. A Wild team playing like they knew what they’re doing. Didn’t see that one coming.

Now if Yeo can just resist the temptation to go ####ing around with the lines. Ya know, because the Yeo motto is, “If it ain’t broke, fix it anyway.” Leave the damn lines alone!

And that would include playing Heatly where he’s most effective: In the press box.

Talent is not the Wild’s problem. It becomes more obvious to everyone (except Yeo) with every passing game that it’s the Yeo “system” that is the problem with this team. A perfect example was keeping your #3 scorer off the ice for the game against the Blues, where every goal would matter.

Hopefully Yeo can stay out of the way for the rest of the season until he gets fired. A few extra wins would help his resume as he competes for minor-league coaching jobs in the future.

It helps when David Backes or Milan Lucic isn’t on the other team. The Coyotes are soft. Still, it is nice to see them sticking up for one another.

The Wild basically should have gotten a shut out last night. That Yote’s goal was fluky, but it still counts.

Here we go again. LA is up next and the Wild really can’t afford to be giving up any more points.

I read an interesting stat today. The Wild are 10-1 when Kaptain Koivu puts up a 2 point game. Even with 2 assists. To me, this is more proof that the Wild have the pieces, it’s just getting them to work together to win that’s been eluding them.

I hate to feed the jinx, but I wouldn’t be surprised to see the get 4 points vs LA and Chicago. As much as has been made about the negative “patterns” in Yeo’s tenure, there is also the one’s like how they come out of slumps and get points against tough opponents. Not saying it is going to happen, just saying I won’t be surprised.

I think tonight’s game is huge in terms of confidence. Neither Phoenix or Dallas plays tonight, so they will be watching. The Wild won’t have the temptation of scoreboard watching.

If they win the pressure mounts on Phoenix and Dallas.

Looking at all 3 teams schedules though does not inspire confidence. What does inspire a little confidence is seeing the Yote’s become unhinged at the end of the game Saturday. They are obviously feeling more heat from Dallas than us.

    2 points would be huge.

Of course if Yeo doesnt play well we could lose with the youngest or one of the youngest teams in the league with no consistant goaltending.

    LOL.

It doesn’t matter who’s coaching the players know this fans are always going to be whining and complaining about anything and everything that’s one of the reasons why coaches in all sports today rent they don’t buy homes in todayS social media frenzy fans have too much pull on what’s going on with the coaching these days

Plain and simple we do not have the talent or experience to contend for a cup at this point and no coach would have changed that this year.

Id ask who you guys would get to coach but thats just a hodge podge of retreds so no sense going there yet.

    In imo.

The problem is that it’s not a case of Yeo lacing up the skates and playing to try to win one at the end. Everyone gets that. That STILL doesn’t make the coach irrelevant to a winning team.

It’s been, to say the least, the questionable player decisions that Yeo has made all year that are the reason why the Wild are in this wildcard race.

Benching the team’s #3 goal scorer last week was just another of a long line of bad decisions that shows that Yeo simply doesn’t have the experience to know how to work with the players he has and to lead an NHL team.

The proof will be in Yeo’s NEXT stop after he gets fired the day after the Wild’s season ends. If he’s such a hot property, surely a bidding war for his services will emerge between at least 2-3 NHL teams who will be in the market?

Is it all Yeo? No. There never is a single factor cause when it comes to an under-performing team. Is Yeo part of the problem? Yes.

    Yeo must go.

Did you see Kuemper got hurt in morning practice, so they signed a 43 year old guy to a pro tryout and he’ll be backing Bryz up tonight. Boy I hope they don’t run Bryz, but I can see a Dustin Brown or even a Carter running him.

    Wild Signs Emergency Goaltender Laurie

The Minnesota Wild has signed goaltender Rob Laurie to a Professional Tryout Agreement and will serve as an emergency goaltender for tonight’s game against the Los Angeles Kings. Goaltender Darcy Kuemper is out with an upper-body injury.

Laurie, 43, played four seasons at Western Michigan University (1988-92) and 10 seasons in the minor leagues (1992-2002) playing for the Roanoke Valley Rampage (ECHL), Dayton Bombers (ECHL), Johnstown Chiefs (ECHL), Greensboro Monarchs (ECHL), Adirondack Red Wings (AHL), Toledo Storm (ECHL), Tallahassee Tiger Sharks (ECHL), Toledo Storm (ECHL), Huntington Blizzard (ECHL), Fort Worth Brahmas (WPHL), Flint Generals (UHL), Austin Ice Bats (WPHL) and El Paso Buzzards (CHL). He will wear jersey No. 33 for Minnesota. Laurie served as an emergency goaltender for the Anaheim Ducks on April 5, 2013 and with the Vancouver Canucks earlier this season on Jan. 5, 2014.

Good game. Seems like when they come out of these slumps they are able to rally and continue to stick with the game plan, even when playing from behind. I think they call that confidence.

Hopefully Granlund is not seriously hurt. Nino, meh I won’t miss him, unless Heater gets back in because of it. What is with the end of the year for the Wild and injuries?

The Wild also signed the top college Free Agent today. Nice to see guys wanting to come here. Especially after Schultz passed on us for Edmonton. I don’t know anything about him other than he plays defense.

Good game indeed. Got to love coming from behind and taking the lead on the road. I hope granlund didn’t get another concusion. The signing of Folin was a good deal. I watched this kid here in Austin play for two years. Hes going to be what the hype is all about with him. He got some size to him that will help out our blue line.

    6-foot-3, 210 pounds…I like him already.

We got some nice defensive prospects. This guy will help bridge the gap from the current roster to those prospects. You just don’t know how long a defensemen will take to be ready.

I’d never jump off the bandwagon. That would be risky when my vision and judgement is impaired by rose colored glasses.

Hopefully we draw the Ducks (if we get in), as I think that is our best chance to make it out of the first round.

Interesting to see we now have 3 Swedish defensemen in our top prospect pool to go along with Brodin.

It should be noted that this latest acquisition can join the team only for the remainder of the regular season. He’s not playoff eligible. Not that I’m against any move the Wild make that adds more beef.

I couldn’t keep my eyes open last night at the end of the second, but I wasn’t really surprised to see they came back and won it. Quick can be as good as he likes, but when the wild are getting chances like they were, it’s only a matter of time.

Once again Koivu and Parise have a 2 point games and what do you know, the Wild win. And Heatly was rightly benched for the second game. There is no point in playing him when it keeps guys like Fontaine or Haula off the ice. Too bad it took Yeo half a season to realize this.

Interesting to see Gaborik play for the Kings.

So you think Brodz and Heaters playing time this season was solely Yeo’s decision and not based on any other variants in the equation?

never a better time to play the Hawks with Kane and Toews both out.. If they win this game, they’ll make the playoffs..

Boy, trading for Bryz was big. He’s playing very well and the team has tightened up defensively.

Yeah it was good to battle back and get a point. I don’t understand why we cant change up our SO shooters. If the other team doesn’t know what our shooters are going to do, they are as dumb as Yeo.. Lets change it up. Coyles got some moves, spurgens got some good hands, why not molsen or haula.
