No not this time. It wasn’t the normal “are your ramps open” type of question.

This fella wanted to know if there was any open water close by. ‘Course I told him we had a little left.

Soo, long story short, Steve’s going to be pulling a water skier this afternoon (when it warms up ) about 3:30.

There’s a nice “breeze” out of the NW and I’m sure this is going to be interesting.

    Video to follow.

It’s funny the call came in the morning and not evening, say-post happy hour.

Some years back a buddy and I were shore fishing for channel cats in early March at the mouth of Shingle Creek. We’re talking ice floating down the river, MAYBE 35 degrees outside.

We see someone launching at the Camden ramp and are joking about the big chunks of ice floating down. Well, about 10 minutes later we see one guy go over the side, but it is too far away to see what is really happening…until the boat starts heading up river with a guy skiing behind it. So yes, they are out there.

We didn’t get confirmation if it was going to be on the air or if it would be on the Wcco Facebook page, but they did receive it.

    Stills coming shortly.

That is a very expensive dry suit. We had windsurfers on lake Michigan during some heavy surf and wind, those guys were amazing. I believe the cops met them on shore, apparently someone complained and in the purpose of public safety they were at least given warnings if I recall. Safetycrats. I guess that clause in the constitution pertaining to the pursuit of happiness is optional. The guy in the picture is smiling, God bless.

I’ve waterskiid, Kneeboarded right after ice out in april one year.

    I was wearing beer insulation.

Best was watching my brother try wakeboarding for the first time…I just kept laughing because i knew our boat didn’t have enought HP to get my 6’7″ brother out of the freezing water He just kept trying and trying. AT least when i was ski’n or kneeboarding i was only in the water for a short time lol

Air temp was over 70 though.

No F’n way i’m doing that on a day like today!

BUt this guy is wearing a dry suit.
