Madison Fishing Expo: Last day–don’t miss it

I attended the Expo Saturday and enjoyed two of the many seminars that day. Marianne Huskey put on one heck of a seminar. She plugged her sponsers and got on with the seminar in quick fashion. She spent time familiarizing us with the benefits of broadband sonar and compared downscan and sidescan to give a complete picture of the water column and bottom features. A lot of questions were asked and she handled them professionally by repeating the question EVERYTIME before answering. When she didn’t know, she would say so (no BS’ing the audience) and asked if anyone could answer in the audience. I came away with some ideas to make my electronics work better for me and some more for catching fish in difficult fishing conditions.

Daryl Christensen spent his birthday with us doing what he enjoys most–talking fishing! I have enjoyed the many times that I have seen his seminars and always walk away from them with another gem to try out. Today, he will talk about the many basic and bizarre fishing methods that he has seen in his lifetime. We got a preview of it on Sat.

Other walleye pros I talked to included Tom Kemos, Robert Blosser, Korey Sprengel, Brad Davis, and The two seminar speakers. Of course, I ran into many friends and fellow anglers, too.

I hope you can get out to the Alliant Energy Center in Madison to the Madison Fishing Expo.
