TC Craft Beer on Winnetka and 42nd in New Hope. Great selection and the owner is a great guy who knows his beer.

Thank you sir! I think you may have already told me about that place, but I forgot. Thanks you for you patience.

I’ve evolved into a hoppy beer liker in the winter (but not as much in the summer). I think Surley Furious is okay, but my new favorite is DeSchuttes Chainbreaker IPA. Has a better finish than Surly IMHO..

Heineken is only edible if almost frozen- then its ok. Otherwise it smells like urine.

I’m with you…can’t get that stuff past my nose.

When visiting my son in Montana I tried a pull of a local beer called Pig’s A$$ just because of the name…quite tastey and wish I could get it here.

Surely Furious.. because surely you will be furious you wasted your money on that terrible beer.

And it comes in an oversize can so there’s more to pour out after that first nasty taste. I damn near flooded a parking lot…

I like Heineken. I like Fosters. I like most lagers as long as they aren’t American.

I’ll give it a whirl. I’m a fan of their Black Butte Porter.

Sounds like Fat Tire. That stuff was rank. Taste wasnt the worst but just couldn’t get past the smell. Smelt like someone filtered it through dirty shorts or something.

Got some Samuel Adams Winter lager Im trying to choke down now. Should rename this stuff MN Sunday brew. Its what we are drinking on Sunday when we forgot to go the liquor store.

My favorites are Rogue Dead Guy Ale, Potosi Cave Ale, LakeFront Riverwest Stein. And when feeling really randy one of the ESB’s out there.

I like both those, I can take them off your hands.
, even though it tastes like a wheat beer to me.
    The Sam Adam’s isn’t bad.

I take back my previous statement, I will drink Sam Adam’s American Lager, although sometimes it is a bit sweet for y liking.

Premos are delicious, but usually more than a 6 pack makes for not a great morning.

Switch over to NordEast which is Premiums little brother no after effects at all and a better beer.

Surly Furios is just a bit to bitter for me, ironically Surly bitter is less hoppy and a much better beer.
    give it try

I like beer; Furious is decent, but it’s got to be warm IMO – cold furious is pretty rank tasting. My favorite Surly is the Cynic, that’s better warm too. Favorite beer is Ninkasi Total Domination, good strong IPA cold or warm. I like drinking Leinie’s while fishing, possibly Labatts light or another Inbev product, really just a few of about anything is better than nothing.

The other problem is there are not a lot of good stores that carry a large selection of microbrews, or at least I haven’t found one yet.

MR.PUG – Have you been to Elevated Wine and Spirits on (roughly) 42nd and Hiawatha. Those boys have a HUGE selection of micros. Sugar Shack by 3rd Street Brewhouse is some tasty seasonal brew

Never been there and now that is quite the drive.

As for ABV, I like beers with a high ABV. One of my favorite brewers is Flying Dog.

Funny, I just noticed that the thread directly below this one is “Leftover Gas.” Perhaps a correlation?

I was chatting with my local beer connection about IPAs yesterday, and he recommended Lucid Foto. He was currently out of stock, but said that I needed to try it.

You people taking shots at Surly should just go back to your Blue Moons with a lemon wedge.

. Yuck too. Without going through the list and boring everyone I’ll just list my favorite every day drinking beer. Sessions. Try it.

My rule is that if you need to put a slice of fruit in it, it’s a terrible beer! Blue Moon, Corona, Honey Weiss…awful.

You have it backwards. The beer makes the fruit taste better.

What’s more important, the name of the beer or the taste? Mostly tongue in cheek but I do know of some times buddies have bought based on name.

Who markets more aggressively, beer brands or fishing brands? When is IDO going to get a beer sponsor so I know what to drink?

This would start a whole thread on how a guy can still get drunk on cheap beer.
