Anyone have any experience with either the Power Pole or Talon? Looking for pros and cons of each as they are about the same price. Holding power, speed of deployment, use in rough water, mechanical problems…etc. Also if it says 8 ft can you hold in 8 ft or is that the distance to the bottom of the spike?

The talon is way easier install. As far as using it I think its a Ford vs Chevy thing. Me personally, I like the talon, its simple and it works. You are correct on the depth. I just installed a talon on my boat, I can’t wait for open water to put it to use.
Couple of guys I talked to that had them (power pole) ended up installing two as when pegged with just one – the boats will spin around on it.
