If it means anything, the MN Wild goalie Josh Harding has it. He was diagnosed about 18 mo ago and is still playing at a super high level. Pretty good success story.

Sorry to hear of your sons diagnosis. My brother was diagnosed with MS about 15 years ago. He has only had a few episodes where it affects his everyday life. He is very lucky. Have a friend that was diagnosed about 5 years ago and was very debilitating right from the start. He was prescribed very high doses of vitamin D or E not sure which but helped him get back enough where he could drive again but not even close to where he was before. Lots of help/support groups out there and from what I have seen I would be as aggressive with the treatments as possible.

First off I’m sorry to hear your son has been diagnosed with MS. With that said, my wife has lived with it very well for the last fifteen years. See was in her mid 30’s when see started having symptoms. Tingling in legs was the main sign. Good news is she may only have symtoms once or twice a year and is usually brought on by stress (not always caused by me). I give her a shot in the legs once a week since then with a drug called Avonex. The good news is she is still beautiful and strong and you’d never know. When she was diagnosed with this they said that at her age the effects of MS is very minor to compared to if you get your younger. Hopefully you son will have the same outcome. Our God is an awesome God at all times. We will pray for you and your family.

Sorry to hear about your son’s diagnosis. My wife was diagnosed at age 60 but has had very minor episodes – Thank God. Try to find an MS group in your area. There is one in La Crosse that meets monthly with guest speakers from various different parts of the MS puzzle and we have learned a lot from them as far as the medications, different therapys and various treatment plans/options offered. The National MS society also offers symposiums that are very informative. There is also a Wisconsin chapter. Best wishes for your son.
