The bite on Devils Lake is usually hot the entire season. The difference is they move deep in the mid season (jan-feb) Come March they tend to move a little shallower. When I say deep i mean it can range from 30-50 fow. March is usually a good time for perch as the become more and more aggressive. The walleye bite is usually red hot as well in March. If you are going to target perch all I can say is be ready to drill and move to find them but once found. It is a BLAST. Dont be afraid to try right in the flooded timber in March. I have had really good luck fishing flooded timber in March.
