What did I just chew up in the snowblower?

Four heavy rubber floor mats. Took them out of my old vehicle when I sold it this weekend and laid them next to my garbage cans, stacked neat as can be. I even remember thinking “that’s a stupid place to put them, but it’s almost garbage day, and I’ll remember to move them if it snows”. That’s three hours this idiot won’t get back.

Not quite as bad as when my neighbor found his dogs tug of war rope though.

Somebody actually paid you for your old Jeep? Sime need parts?

Did they get that fancy rear door prop rod with it too?

Yup. Guess it’s going to be turned into some sort of offroading machine. Got about what I was asking for it too. I threw in the 2×4 for the hatch for free.

Lol I found a ash catcher for a weber grill. Made it all the way to the second stage. 3+ hours

I sucked up a heavy outdoor rug once…. Really, really going to try and not do that again. What a pain to get out after it completely stuck into both stages.

I don’t which is worse. My dog brought back a dead rabbit and I thought it was a clump of salt crap. Chunks all over the neighbors yard and the dogs are all over the debris field….

Since we got more and more so I been see garden tractor mounted blowers.
Some look like they could chew up a Mercedes easy enough. One yesterday was throwing a 6 inch diameter plume about 75 feet near as I could tell.

Drove thru 40 miles of 7 inch blizzard to get stuck at end of drive. Local muscle and wimpy blower got me in garage.

I hope the dog wasn’t attached.

DT….That happened to a friend a couple years ago. He was blowing his drive out and this kid was messing with the dog….tossing snowballs. The dog got carried away playing with the snow plume and before the blower could get disengaged the dog ran into it. Wasn’t good and the dog did not make it.

The newspaper in a plastic bag that I don’t subscribe to in the driveway. Happens every year.

Two years ago while trying to be a good neighbor I picked up a hockey puck next door. It sheered off one of my stage one auger pins.

My dad was snow blowing my driveway while I was at work a couple years back. He was unaware of where I had stacked the tomato cages that fall…

I have a standing rule that none of my dogs are allowed outside while I run the snowblower. Anyone else?

I saw two people in the hood yesterday that had dogs running around playing while they cleared snow. It made my wife and I me cringe.

Those aluminum driveway reflector sticks are pretty wicked in the snowblower as well. Ends up like a piece of spaghetti tightly wrapped around it.

x2! I have a lab and gsp and neither one are allowed outside when I am clearing snow, cutting grass, tilling or weed wacking. There’s no reason for the dogs to be around when equipment is being operated.

I think guys are wired to ignore those thoughts in our head. I know I do.

    – This bag of garbage that the GF put by the door, maybe I should take it out.

    – Hmm, I’ll take my socks off in the living room. Maybe I should put those in the dirty laundry bin.

    – Hey, you just put your contacts in, maybe you should leave the case and bottle on the sink.

Maybe it would help if that little voice sounded like my GF. Eventually it does and it is neither quiet nor in my head.

The free paper that I don’t want makes it through just fine, the Sunday Pioneer Press, not so much. My Weimaranner can’t be bothered to come outside if it is snowing or too cold so no such safety concern.

I did the same thing! I think it took me around 4 hours since it was 5 cages and wrapped up everywhere.

Silly question, but why? I assume you are afraid your dog will end up in the blower?

If you want to make your wife think your smarter than she already does just snow blow over the extension cord for the xmas lights. been hearing about pulling that stunt for months now.

Very similar. They can be in their fenced yard when I’m cleaning other areas of the yard but before I go into the dog yard, they go into the house.

    Yes, Kids too.
My youngest stepson 10 years always got mad when he and he friends had to go inside or leave the yard when I was mowing. Wife thought I was being too cautious until I hit a Rock one day, unseen before hand and unseen as it exited the mower. Hit the House and sounded like a bomb went off.

Wife and kid never again questioned me keeping the yard clear while mowing.

I cringe every time the neighbor across the street mows with his kids playing in the grass being thrown from the mower. And he is a school teacher.

Yes. Same with mowers. Dogs are way too unpredictable and I am focused on running the machines and keeping my own body parts safe.

You guys take your snow blowing/yard mowing pretty serious. I like to point the chute at my neighbors house and fill his sidewalk full. Need a good north wind though.

For the record, never replace the shear pins with steel bolts even if it’s just to finish the drive. Costs you a gear box in stage 1.

I happened to suck up the 2×4 my neighbor had on his driveway to rest his fish house on. I was going to be the nice guy until I snapped my sheer pin as well.

Yeah Those Solar yard light fly pretty good too. My wife decided to leave the two by our entrance door out this winter. Yesterday she told me to take out the big pile by said entrance and didn’t tell me they were still there. They aren’t any more! Now they are somewhere between my house and the neighbors

Watch out for your deer sheds too. I was training my dog to find them and thought I had them all picked up earlier this winter. I missed one. Bounced around the first stage and shot back out the front about 30 feet. Needed a new shear pin after that.

And yes my dog is in the house when I do snow and mow lawn.

My neighbor got a frozen newspaper so tightly jammed, he has to use a torch to burn it out.
