My 01 chevy half ton needs some new meats. I am planning on getting some more aggressive mud tire. Most likely 265’s or 31’s. I need them to be good on the highway because I will be traveling back and forth from college. Let me know what you guys have and what is a good set!

Pro comp makes a good all terrain that might fit the bill. Not really such thing as a mud tire that is good on the highway. The spots in between the lugs don wear too well.

Your going here about alot of brands.

I use the Hankook DynaPro ATM RF10,I got 5 years out of my last pair on my truck.

As a matter of a fact,I took them off a tad bit early so I could sell them as “good” spares.

I just put my second set of these on mt 2500HD last week. I got 45k miles on my last set and drive a lot of gravel. I was happy with the miles that I got out of them. Cost me $216 each on the road. I would recommend them.

Aggressive but still good on the highway I would recommend Goodyear Duratracs. They are expensive but are good tires.

x3 I am sorry that I did not buy another set for my current truck but I was replacing tires on a truck with 225k miles on it and figured a second set would by far outlast the life of the truck. I had 80k miles on the duratracks when I changed them out.

X2 I have got more miles on Cooper tires then any other tire I have ever owned, you can get them at Fleet Farm and save yourself some $$$.

I have 15000 on my Goodyear silent armors and love em. 285/70-17s fit in my 2500 wheel well just fine. Not as aggressive as the duratracs, but less highway noise and still pull me around on unplowed lakes with medium snow.

Cooper AT3 is good but if you want something more aggressive and still quiet look at the Cooper ST Maxx. It only comes in about 10 sizes and all are 10 ply rated. They wear well and are chip resistant for gravel. I use them to plow snow commercially on my 2500 HD.

I run the AT3’s on my 2500HD and my buddy runs the ST Maxx. Both good tires but the St Maxx are significantly louder IMHO, my buddy agrees with me. I also plow but not commercially. This is my first winter with the AT3’s and I am very very happy. Great ice fishing/ getting around the lake and plowing and quiet on the highway. And just about the best thing is they are MADE IN USA!
