What a fun game to watch though, especially considering it ended in a shoot out which I usually hate, but I like the international shoot out rules better. After 3 let them put whoever they want out there.

Oshie was great and the guts of the coaching staff to keep putting him out there when he couldn’t be stopped!! Awesome stuff!!

The shot should’ve never even happened. The whistle should’ve blown long ago. That rule takes the judgement call away from the refs and eliminates controversy.

What a finish. Great game. That should get them into the finals.

I still hate shootouts. The overtime was much more exciting than the shootout.

shoot out isn’t a team thing at all–I like overtime also!!

Of coarse, I’m a goalie. Play stops when the net comes off and I hate shootouts.

Shoot outs are fun to watch but shouldn’t decide outcomes of games..IMHO

Anyone else think Emrick was more infatuated with the hometown Russki’s then the country who pays him? Never could stand his favorite terms like “skittered” and others.

Olympic hockey is what it is. Bigger ice sheets, different call making, shoot outs & more. It isn’t for everyone. I enjoy watching it as obviously Canada & Russki’s paper talent is IMPOSSIBLE to match. Good thing USA hockey has always had deep ties to a grind it out, smash mouth, bring your lunch pail hockey.

6:30 tmrw morning vs Slovenia. Kopitar is there only NHL stud. If your not watching Slovenia beat Slovakia 3 – 1. USA beat Slovakia 7-1

I see they use the 3 points up for grabs system for each game. W=3, overtime win = 2 and overtime loss = 1. I like that.

I guess I don’t mind the shootout in the olympics, just because of the schedule and you pretty much know going in who are going to advance to the medal rounds.

Key game coming up for Canada vs Finland. For the Finns, this is THEIR gold medal match and they’ll be fired up. If anyone can derail Canada in pool play, it’s the Finns.

Great to see all the USA players playing well together! Hopefully they will get a chance to beat Canada for the gold.

Watching some of the replays and interviews on NBC tonight. An old saying goes “If that doesn’t lite your fire then your wood is wet”. Definitely applies to this game. What a terrific game to watch.
