Google now lets anybody upload 360 degree panarama views from their neighborhoods around the world. (includng inside buildings) (just need an app for your smartphone) Gives a unquie personalized perspecitve.

There is no point at all, but since google lets people do it people just think it’s a cool thing to do.

They already have street view, they don’t need this.
I suspect it will be used mostly for landmarks and interesting places. IF you do it on your street, your a moron.
Does anyone actually own a handset that has Photosphere loaded on it?
