Energy Audit

    I had my power company come out to do an energy audit as my last bill was excessive even with the cold. Found out it is costing me $70-$80 a month to run the electric heater for my son’s rabbit cage. I think rabbit stew is on the menu.

    It’s a rabbit…it doesn’t need heat. As long as it has shelter and some hay for bedding.

    A light bulb should be able to make enough heat for a rabbit in the bitter cold.
    I have software that I can do energy “assumptions” It is basic info about the home and such but it does not surprise me at all that a little space heater will cost that much. My addition is heated by electric currently and it saves me $200 a month if I burn wood in my fireplace every day. Even ones that claim to cost less are expensive.
