Driving down to the cities from Ely on our way to the airport heading to Ecuador, about halfway through the trip I hear I tightening sound in the engine so I quickly pulled over and shut the car off, just as it started to make a clunking sound. I looked under the hood and saw oil all over the alternator belt and everything on the passenger side of the engine… checked the dipstick and it was dry… (no light ever came on) Used my USAA roadside assistance, and got the car to a shop, where I told the mechanic worst case scenario was the timing chain slipped caused the pistons to slam into the valves, burst a seal on the front side and the car is done for… best case scenario, the filter leaked out and the wind caused all the oil to go to one side, and a fill up may be all I need. Looks like it was the timing/valves R.I.P. car.
R.I.P.
