Best Lund Dealer

So after further research I think the Lund Crossover is the best boat for our family. Price is a concern but I also want it rigged correctly, motor propped right, etc. If you would purchase a Lund boat what dealer would you use. If you have purchased a Lund boat please let me know what dealer and how happy you were with the purchase. PM’s are fine if you don’t want to post here. Oh, and when the dealers say you will never find a better price than at the boat show is that true??? Thanks again.

I have purchased two lunds and a ranger from rapid marine. I have been very happy with them. I have had a couple of trailer issues and they have gone out of their way to get them fixed as fast as possible, so I was able to make it on my fishing trips. Price was good, but their service has been great and that means a lot to me.

Good to hear I just ordered a new lund from them. Guess I will see in April.

I would recommend Al’s Specialty Marine in Rochester. I purchased a used pro v from them two years ago. Had some issues with the motor and they stood behind it and were very easy to work with. I know I will go back when I purchase my next boat!

I also recommend Al’s Specialty Marine in Rochester.

    Here’s why:

I bought a Ranger Reata there. Several months later the pump that fills the livewell failed when I was on a 1 week fishing vacation (far away from Rochester).

The local Ranger dealer didn’t have the part, so I called Al’s just to ask them where else I could get one. Their sales manager Terry Smith asked me where I was, and Fed-Exed the part to me – it arrived the next day – at no cost. I hadn’t even considered asking him to do that – it was HIS idea.

When I told him how impressed I was with that service, he said: “Remember when you bought the boat and I told you we would take care of you? This is what I was talking about”.

I would give Al’s a big thumbs up as well.

I love hearing stories about great customer service. It almost seems we are hearing more and more lately. This is a classic story of a dealer that wants to have a customer for life.

Chad, PM me I can give you the name of the salesman and dealer that I ordered my Crossover 1875 from three weeks ago and like I mentioned before in PM they were a lot less then Rapid, Nelson and the dealership in Alexandria. They have good financing options too. I had a co-worker buy a 1675 from the boat show from rapid just a base model nothing added, just boat motor trailer and called the sales guy that I used and he was 1500 less that Rapid but for them saving 1500 wasn’t worth 4 hour drive.

I bought my fisherman at nelson marine and had great service. Any repairs I need to have done are done at Erickson marine in Hastings. They have always been good to deal with and even when I needed it fixed in a couple days before a big trip they pulled through.

Only reason I didn’t buy it there was because they didn’t have the trailer I wanted.

Bought my Ranger from Rapid am was very happy. Couple small issues out of the gate and they bent over to get them addressed immediately.
Rapid also has a few different loactions and might help if one was away from orginal dealer.
    Just my $.02

Keeping customers happy is the life blood of the business.

Businesses with excellent reputations for customer service can actually charge more (within reason) because the customer knows he will be taken care of.

Businesses that “don’t get it” have a shrinking customer base and have to squeeze more out of the costumers they have. Eventually, they run out of customers and die.

I had great experiences with Als Specialty Marine with a couple of different purchases, new 50hp Yammie back in 94 and new ProV in 99.

However in the last year when it came time to talk about a loose rivit and broken back rests on chairs in my 2002 Lund Mr. Pike they hardly had time to even talk to me… Disappointing. The lund warranty regarding the loose rivet was really disappointing, NONE…

Both in person and on the phone it really didn’t seem like they even cared. That’s what really bothered me.

Call Tim W at Nelson Marine in White Bear, I was just talking to him and Ted Takasaki about Tyees and sturgeon fishing at the boat show
    Ted looked pretty confused

I must not deal with the right people any time I have ever walked into Rapid, because I’ve never had good service there.
I made a few phone calls when I bought my boat and went up to Ray’s Sport and Marine in Grand Rapids. Great service and price made it well worth the extra drive.

Bought my 2011 Impact leftover during the boat show but at
R&R to get all the discounts and rebates. They rigged everything I requested real well. Have had excellent help at the parts desk in getting any maintenance parts and additional setup parts.
Rapid has been real attentive whenever I go to the dealer.
    Would definitely buy there again.

Just starting the process of getting a handle on what it would take to move to a new boat.

So far Al’s Specialty Marine ( Terry ) has been extremely patient with my multiple questions. Did I mention my multiple questions…
