I have maxim 65 lb thrust motor here. The problem I’m having is when I turn power onto the unit I get a clicking sound out of the foot pedal. Will not spin the prop. Everything is charged up and checked the connections. All good. The issue is that I had some visitors in the young age range thinking they were fishing and got to playing with the trolling motor and left it on. It drained the battery’s down and I don’t know how long it was on. Any help wold be greatly appreciated.

I would get a reading on the actual battery voltage first.

Take the prop off and check the shear pin. I know you said the sound was coming from the pedal but its worth a look see.

Is it a cable driven foot pedal? If not it might be an electrical short in the pedal.

Trolling motors are designed to run underwater only. The water cools the case to prevent overheating of the motor windings. Your guests may have smoked the motor.
