Check out the traffic cam link on WCCO.

They had to close I35 from Wyoming to Forest Lake to clear the carnage. Think we were in Atlanta…

a little less gas pedal and a little more following distance would make a world of difference for these drivers!

An 18 wheeler tanker can stop but not cars and pickups.
Drivers are getting worse by the day, too bad common sense is all to uncommon these days.

Just drove from Plymouth to Bloomington. I don’t believe the plows have run on 494 yet. Was a bit surprised to see that amount of snow on the roads yet.

Excellent day to be working from home! Though I did go out this morning and drive around town. I wont miss the chance to 4×4 on new snow.

People just need to chill out and also to understand that econo-box cars are great for gas mileage, but VERY bad in a heavy snow. Don’t get frustrated at other cars going around you because your Prius can’t make it up the hill.

A woman this morning was waving her arms out the window and was obviously frustrated because she was trying to turn left across a snow filled center line. Because she was driving a lite tin Econobox Toyota, she had to make a run at the snow or she would get hung up. She was all frustrated because she thought cars in the oncoming lane of traffic should be stopping her, but of course they couldn’t see what her problem was until they were right next to her.

If you or your vehicle can’t handle the conditions, then stay off the road.

Agree. People’s shopping habits all over the country to a certain extent are dictated by where they live, their environment. I’m sure people in Seattle own multiple, quality umbrellas. I’m a little surprised more folks don’t find it important to make one of their cars an SUV, truck or hybrid combo. Close to half of the year here can fall into the “adverse conditions” category.
I understand the appeal of 50 mpg but I also enjoy the confidence of being able to navigate safely on days like today.
