Yesterday afternoon I’m looking out the window at the bird feeders. Gale force winds, snow squalls, and birds sitting on the perch swinging around in the wind. It really was quite comical. Those feathers must really offer birds warmth, it hardly seemed to bother them.

About 330 yesterday was about the worst I’ve seen in our yard. But the birds persevered. They are tough critters. About ten minutes ago we had a bald eagle coast over the yard, that cleared the feeders.

I whiteknuckled it from central SD yesterday AM. It sucked. 25mph at times was just to fast.

I hit dozens of spots on the road yesterday with zero visibility for up to 75 yards with drifts in my lane. Really hairy.

I went to town and back and couldn’t see the front of my car… when you say zero visibility you aren’t kidding!!!

Amazing anything can survive this. But my driveway was covered in juncos picking grit this morning just like every other day.

Had a small hawk ambush a bird below our feeders. Reached for the phone camera but the movement flushed the hawk with his prey firmly secured in his talons.

Yet there is pages and pages of people complaining on-line that they close schools.

There were a couple squirrels out early this morning at the crack of dawn. I was surprised. I didn’t feel like monkeying with the feeder so I just dumped some sunflower seeds out there for them.

I have seen squirrels clinging to the tree like the one above, but they are normally in direct sunlight.
