I dont watch alot of TV but when I am doing my rod building or jig making I will have it on for back ground noise.

Why is it for what one pays for cable TV all you see/here is repeats after repeats after repeats !

By now you would think with today’s technology we should be able pick and choose what we want to view on our TV and NOT some BS repeats.

Ok that was my rant of the month !

I’m thinking of jumping to hulu plus and a roku box. For $8 a month plus Netflix for another $8, I’ll be way ahead. There is upfront cost in buying the roku boxes and the hd antennae (40). Afew friends have this setup and love it

Ive been that way for almost 3 years now, less the HD antenna. No tv waves here.

I’ve been thinking of using Amazon prime instead of Netflix though. Seems like a toss up

I’m waiting until we know for sure this internet thing isn’t just a fad.

We cancelled our Direct TV about a week and a half ago due to the cost and to be honest, we don’t miss having it one bit. We’ll be getting a bundle package through Comcast at a much cheaper rate, but at some point, I could see only having the internet and no more TV.

I’m with ya Funk, we are moving out and have no plans to turn the cable on at the new house.

Then how do you watch Gopher’s football or basketball. Or Twins games….and what about football games on ESPN? Or do you just live without?

We cut the DirecTV a year ago. The only thing missing is live sports, fortunately (or maybe not) we live where we can get a Fox station over the air so we can watch the Vikings (ughhh) and the first half of the Nascar season (yay!) Other wise its Netlix and Amazon Prime. Plus I have SiriusXM in the truck so I can still listen to pretty much any live sport. Although the satellite radio subscription isn’t a bargain either.

We dumped our cable a while ago and got Netflix. We have a Wii and also a Roku to watch it on. I don’t miss commercials at all but I do miss the randomness of cable. It takes us forever to pick a movie!
