I can’t take the weather anymore. I’m booking a trip to Hilton Head SC for some golf and sunshine. Anybody else ever make this trip that has some tips to ensure it goes smooth?
    Thanks in advance!

Destroy your golf clubs and golf clothing.

I can’t believe you actually said that publicly. <sigh>

Golf? I think you spelled it wrong and don’t know your geography. It’s gulf and only Texas, Alabama, Louisiana, Mississippi and Florida have shores on it. I heard the fishing has really come back in the Gulf after that oil spill.

I think he was waiting at the bus stop for more than 20 minutes after his parents locked him out of the house.

Ignore all these nay sayers’ that don’t know the feeling of sticking a wedge from 125yds to 2′! . Personally I go down to the Bonita Springs, Fl. area to get my winter GOLF fix (and you have great GULF shore fishing!). Temps right now are in the mid 70’s and you would have PLENTY of low-mid-and high priced golf to choose from! Fly direct into Ft Meyers Intl. Good luck and hit’ em’ long and straight! RR

I’ve had cold trips to Florida in Feb more than once. There are no guaranteed warm destinations in the continental US this time of year.

Ice golf tournament at the Anchorage Inn in Longville this weekend. You’ll stay plenty warm chasing down your ball as it bounces across the ice and gets buried in a snow drift.

Its bad enough that people waste precious summertime hours chasing a little ball around with a stick with out traveling half way across the country to do it. As l have said before golfers are of low moral character and diminished fortitude and are an indication of where society has gone wrong. Kick the habit and take up an honorable winter pastime like casino gambling. It will have a positive impact on society and you will be a better man for it.

Golf was invented for people that can not back up a boat trailer! LOL.

How will sticking a wedge anywhere make you feel better?

Unless you’re into that kind of thing.

It must be true. Tiger couldn’t even drive forward let alone back up a boat.

Despite all the wise cracks that actually sounds like a great idea. Let us know how it goes.

MY wife’s uncle lives down there golfs almost every day. I know a lot of the courses offer winter season discounts. I believe there is even a coupon book that you can buy if you are going to golf a lot. As far as places to stay I’m sure there are a lot options, condos and hotels. One course to look at is Hilton Head National. It is just off the island but a very nice course. For food check out Franky Bones.

LOL, I laugh because I know what Foot Joys are.

About 20 years ago I decided I had to choose between fishing and golf. I think I made the wrong decision.

Plenty of time for both Pug, a Guy’s gotta be well rounded!
I’m getting fried on ice fishing, might not fish again until open water.

It’s between Texas and Florida. There’s a gentleman in Port Isabelle TX that was good friends with my in-laws that I could spend a day chasing Redfish in the Laguna Madre with. Then get my golf fix in Brownesville.

I figured I could either continue being average at both, or become a really good golfer or a really good fisherman if I just concentrated on one. I was wrong.

I’m sure you are the type that say fishing is everything and then spend money at Grand Casino Mille lacs… I play golf and hockey in the summer along with fishing. I also camp, play disc golf, roller blade, mountain bike, take walks with the family, garden and so on. Time for lots of activities.

That sounds like a great time. Have fun and shoot straight. (Unless the hole has a dog leg)

Hey rooster, got back from Bonita Springs today. Thanks for the suggestion, you’re right, lots of courses to choose from! Tuesday was the best day weather wise, 80 degrees. Was a great get away and will probably do it again next year.
Reality set in when I put the golf clubs in the garage and fired up the snowblower…
