Once you go black, you’ll never go back…

I like the looks of the new color scheme.

Just got mine today, they made some sweet improvements! The reel feels very smooth, drag is pretty good as well but I am going to clean and re-grease it because its not as smooth as I like. The handle is very nice, I actually really love it. The knob is oversize rubber-like plastic now instead of wood/plastic.

Plus the color looks even better in person, the matte black really looks nice against the gray.

I bought a size 20 and spooled it up with 4# line for fishing spoons, then it will double on a st. croix panfish rod for spring/summer.

I spooled it with northland bionic ice because I’ve always wanted to try it. It’s not that great, I wouldn’t recommend it. Its full of memory and pretty stiff. It will work fine for what I am going to use it for (spoons for crappie and bass), but I’s not even close to the level sufix ice magic is. I might even strip it and spool it up with sufix if its even worse in the cold than it is right now.

Yep I like the Trions also. Been fishing them for a couple years now. Picked up one of the new ones this year and the new black looks real nice on a 13 Wicked rod ! However, something I would like to see from reel makers is more long stem spinning reels like the 13 wicked long stem. I picked up a 27″ UL wicked combo with long stem wicked reel and dang it if I don’t just love the long stems now. Don’t know why all reel makers aren’t offering this! I’m thinking about replacing all my Trion and Sienna ice reels with long stems. Just want to continue working with the one I have to make sure it performs well and is durable. sSo far no issues at all. I spooled the long stem with 4# flouro. I only use flouro 2,4,or 6# maybe someday I’ll have to use 8# for some big eyes
