Rack Shack in West St. Paul

    Back a few years ago when IDO Member Elliot Ashwell started the Rack Shack in Burnsville, I had it marked on my “to-eat” list. Well, I just don’t spend much time down there, and ran across a restaurant of the same name in West St. Paul yesterday. Thinking it must be one in the same, I stopped in and ordered the Brisket Sandwich. No sooner did I sit down to start eating than I had the owner Elliot himself say hello. After going through about every sauce they had (I liked the Kansas City with St. Paulie being a close second) we chatted fishing for awhile. Fun to see a fellow IDO’er doing so well.

    Elliot it’s obvious you have a passion for BBQ and fishing, and that’s one heckuva combination! Food was great, will be back soon with the family next time. Thanks again!

    I have been to the one in Burnsville. Great Food !!! They have great commercials too! It has been awhile since I have been there I am overdue.

    Rack Shack…and here I thought it was a colloquial name for Hooters that I hadn’t heard of before. ;-)

    that would make a great restaurant theme … BBQ and 80081ES
    oughtta beat the tar outta Hooters chicken wings

    Funny you mention this:

    I had never heard of the place before today. A customer of mine wanted lunch and we ordered enough to feed 13 guys from the rack shack in Burnsville. Very good food and all at a decent price.

    On Robert street next to the Leanne Chins. You can smell the smoke in the Leanne Chins.

    Good stuff. I’ve tried the pulled pork sammich and the brisket sammich.

    Both were good but I liked the pulled pork better.

    The side dishes are really good. The baked beans and mac n cheese are the best.

    Great place!
