Apple can kiss all of our who can’t evade taxes and regs that apply to most Americans, galaxies are nice but spendy and the user interface is a bit overwhelming IMO, I went with droid RAZR M. Simple, reliable, has stood up to my abuse, and probably free by now.

If you love your 4S then stay with Apple. If its a phone that you have you’ve been ambivelent about, look at the androids. I have the Motorola moto-x and love it for its hands free. Camera is OK but I think the apple phones are better…a plus if you use your phone to photograph your catch.

The battery life on the 5s is terrible, that is my only complaint. I actually went with the Motorola razor maxx and love it. Edward Norton wasn’t kidding the battery really lasts at least two days. I also think the samsung line is a little too spendy.

Hey guys thanks for the replies. I don’t mind spending the money for a cell phone. I use my phone a lot so the battery life of the 5s concerns me. Does anybody know if the trollers bible is available on the android yet?

That’s what I was afraid of. That might keep me with apple. Does anyone know how big of a problem I’m gonna have getting my contacts and pictures switched from Iphone to android?

If you have all your contacts already in gmail or something like that. (gmail works best by the way. They will come right over when you connect your gmail account during the setup on the S4. Having the 5 and the S$(work testing) I find the screen nicer and the navigation is somewhat the same. One thing I like is the swipe keyboard. It makes for typing up long emails or longer txt messages a dream.

Not sure on the pics. Might want to save them in dropbox or something like that before you migrate phones if that is what you do.

For usability. If your a one handed phone kinda guy stay with apple. You need both hands for the S4 just about for everything.

Too the guy that said the battery life on a 5s is horrible. Have you owned an iPhone or did you hear that info? I have no battery issues on my 5s and my FW has no issues on her 4s. I plugged mine in on Friday night, used it a good amount surfing and checking email most of the day Saturday and streamed music for about 5 hours today. Looking at the battery life right now and it is saying 55% left. Usage time of 6 hours 59 minutes and 1 day 13 hours standby.
It is so funny how many people have opinions about phones they have never owned. I have owned windows, blackberry, android and apple platforms of phones and I will not go back to android, windows or blackberry
My vote is for an apple iPhone

I went from android to the 5s. First my daughter bought one and I really liked it so the fw and I got them and also now my other daughter, so now we all have them. I really like the smaller size and it works flawlessly. The battery life Is a lot better than my old phone as we’ll. I get well over a day including being on the ice out in the cold and with moderate usage like lots of picture and video taking, a little surfing, listening to music etc. I never really was an apple guy but I do like this phone!

I did own the 5s, now it’s the FWs’ phone. With my job I would say I use my phone an average amount but don’t have a chance to charge during the day. A few days it wouldn’t have made it through without me turning it off.(about 9 hours) I know many people with the 4s and the battery life was much better. My wife bought the case for the 5s with the 80% battery extension on it and loves it, but the case dosnt offer as much protection as like an otter box or a life proof case, and I’m kinda hard on my phones in my line of work.

I’m an Android guy, but I am not a cheerleader when it comes to choice. You can’t go wrong either way. You just have to research a little and determine what is most important to you and which phone excels at it.

Does the trolling bible need internet or data access? If not, why can’t you continue to use it for the app? I still have my original Android phone and I use it for testing.

If you are serious about an Android, do your do diligence. Identify what is important like say battery life. Then get on the internet and check out reviews for the latest phones. See if there are issues with what is important to you. And absolutely seek out the newest phones, since like a computer, your phone hardware will be able to handle new OS updates for as long as possible.
