We are considering a week fishing trip for 40-60 people this July.
    I am looking for:
    Super kid friendly
    Excellent fishing
    Seclusion if possible
    Multiple adjacent cabins
    Availability

    Got any ideas?

Went to boat show this weekend and found a couple that might work, but they are at the show to sell, not recommend. I’m looking for reviews.

    Thanks for the help.

Since you threw this in the General Discussion, whereabouts are you looking, your state, out of state, maybe the polar ice cap?

Going to be tough that time of year and with that many people. Good luck.

X2 Logistics makes it tough. Would be ideal to have a string of cabins, possibly an entire resort that has eight to ten cabins.
Might need two years lead time for something like that.
    Are you thinking Minnesota?

I would suggest Northland Lodge on south end of Leech lake. But planning for that big of group with only six months to go might be tough to find enough accomidations….

Not really sure of the “where”. Keeping options open.
Want to keep within 10 hours of Omaha.

Rainy lake house boats can handle a crowd like that, move your lodging whenever you want and rent their fishing boats so you don’t have to bring a bunch of them all that way.use a couple guides for a day maybe to get familiar with the lake and get on the current bite.May be worth looking at. Have Fun!

I don’t know if this will help, but check out the Detroit Lakes area. There’s some good fishing lakes, plenty to do for the people who don’t like to fish as much (i.e. shopping/entertainment, and it’s a much easier trip for you to come up I-29. Lots of good family resorts in that area that may be what you’re looking for. Not nearly as busy as Brainerd, but still has the restaurants and stores people may need. I stayed there with my family as a kid and always enjoyed the trips.

Suggest you focus on the larger resort areas like Brainerd, Alexandria, etc. It’s going to be very difficult to get everything on your wish list with this short of notice.

I have had a family reunion with that number of people at a great little resort in South Dakota at Roy Lake, but we booked the entire resort AND RV sites at the adjacent State Park more than a year in advance so that we had the whole place.

Roy lake is fantastic. The boys and I get up there every year. The trip I’m looking at needs to have ” shopping” as an option. Not an option at Roy Lake. Looking for something around Walker, Brainerd, Alexandria,…?

Grand Rapids is 25 miles south. Dan and Carol’s main focus is family fun with extra attention placed on kids. Activities planned throughout the day. Fishing was unreal. 7 lb smalls, walleyes and 40 plus inch toothy fish while the kids are busy doing their thing. This place really allows everyone in the family to have a week doing what THEY want to do. Plus you’ll make friends for life at this place.

Availability on short notice will be really tough, but check out Treeland Resorts in Hayward, WI. http://www.treelandresorts.com/

X2 on Treeland! That was my favorite place when i was growing up! highly recommend… although the fishing is nothing to write home about

The Anderson’s own a whole bunch of resorts on Leech and do allow guests to use boats, pool, beach etc. at the other resorts on the lake. I know you probably don’t want to split up but they could definitely accommodate your group.
