Every Angler over time finds at least one bite that they look forward to every year. I just want to know what your favorites are. This way maybe we can learn of some new bites to try in the future and also it can start getting us stoked up for it no matter what time of the year it happens.

My favorite bite would have to be spring walleye on the Rainy River. Its so much fun with all the chances at amazing quality fish. If you have never done it try squeeze it on your calendar because its a blast.

I guess mine would be spawning time for bluegills on the beds with a fly rod. Down here we have many area’s that have flat sand bed on the river so sometimes it seem endless fishing.

After taking ten yrs off from doing it, last year I went back up and fished the sturgeon…… What a great time. That is one of my favorites.

I’ll go to my grave believing the most magical time of the year is when the water temps begin to hold steady in the low-mid 40’s and slowly rise. Ya, its fun and a good moment when you feel that TICK of a walleye suck’n in a jig/plastic. But when it comes down to it, I’ll trade off that whimpy finesse fishing for a something that will rise up 15 feet off the bottom and SCREAM MINE!!!!! as it dam near rips the rod out of your hand.
There is a point of finding crankbaits that get hit, and a distinct difference of figuring out what they want to EAT! When I get dialed into that profile/color, you’ll have a hell of a time trying to get me off the water! Thanks for getting me a little fired up this morning as I sit here at a wrestling tournament

Spring bite for me as well throwing blades an light jigs an plastics looking for a pre spawn fatty on the river. A close close second is draggin jigs and crawlers for early summer shallow water eyes listening to the twins game!

A mid/late summer panfish bite below a small low head dam on a Wisconsin river backwater. The fish get trapped in spring and get super aggressive by the middle of summer.

I bring my little girls out there and they play around in the water and reel in my fish. Reminds me of being a kid and why I like fishing so much. The fish are generally decent sized too.

I don’t troll. Lost interest in it 25+ years ago when I lived on Lake MI. Even there, I cast/drift/jig. Best bet is to dig in older reports for Brad, Joel, and a couple others that have put some great trolling articles/reports together

Fall walleye, from Halloween to the second, or third week of November. Specifically the jig and red tail bite in the central mn region.

My favorite bite to be on is the Canadian spring walleye shallow water pitching bite. I have had times where they smack the jig and plastic as soon as it hits the top of the water next to the pencil reeds like a bass. Or bouncing it off the windblown shoreline rocks into inches of water and Whack, line snaps tight and watching the water fly up from the line going tight so fast. The finess fishing is fun but the hard hitting early spring bite is tough to beat!

The late-April/early-May shallow walleye bite on Winnebago. I can walk down the street with a small cooler of beer & a couple of rods and cast for walleyes every evening. A close second is the June catfish spawn on Bago — same place and continuous action of 6#-12# fish on those nights you hit it.

Spring sucker run! Hard to beat a sunny, warm day on the banks of a river.

x2 Every bite has its time and place. I think opener, whether they are biting or not is my most exciting time.

My favorite bite is north of the border on Lake Nipigon. When conditions are right in early summer the spring fed feeder creeks can become big pike bonanzas! I especially love to see two 45″ class fish slowly cruizing down the creek on top of the water looking for an easy meal. Combating trophy fish in a small area makes for adrenilne rush that can’t be topped!
