So we got some shrimp from Joe Patti’s thanks to a friends parents.

I saw they had a website and checked them out. Seems like they have some decent prices.

    Cobia $9.99
    Grouper $12.99
    Chilean Sea Bass $15.49

Of course shipping gets a little spendy, but the closest quality fresh fish place I know of is Coastal Seafoods. I figure delivery to my door as opposed to driving down there would offset some of the cost.

I am wondering if anyone has gotten orders from here or perhaps there is a better online coastal seafood outfit?

It’s that cold that you choose to not go out and catch your own fish anymore…you thought it would be better to come to a fishing site to get opinions on mail order fish????

I have never heard of them, I actually go to Coastal once in a while when I want something different. I have been looking into finding an outfit to get fresh Halibut from Alaska, no solid results yet though.

Ha, guess I didn’t think about that. But ocean fish are a little different and there are species that you can grill. From the gulf states I’d love Cobia and grouper and from AK salmon and Halibut.

Mmmmm frogs legs. Man do I love frogs legs! Wish more restaurants had them on the menu.

There was a restaurant in Prior Lake called the Anchor Inn right off Hwy 13. We had friends in PL that we visited often when I was a young wiper snapper and we always went there. All the kids usually ordered cheeseburgers but I always went with the frog legs, yum.

I had some in Texas a few years ago and they were just as I remembered. I found a couple restaurants in the cities that served them over the years but they were nothing like the legs from Anchor Inn or the ones I had in Texas, I wasn’t impressed. Anyone know a good restaurant in town that serves good frog legs? Sorry for the hijack.

Take a little drive up to Baxter and stop at Morey’s on 371. http://moreysmarkets.com/ Everything I have got there has been really good!! And there is an awesome meat market(Von Hansons) across the street. Morey’s has frog legs too.

I’ll say this about Joe Patti’s shrimp. Delicious. Very clean and tasted purged with no salty seawater taste masking the shrimp.

So where is there a good place in town to get raw oysters? Any oyster fans want to meet up for a beer and a snack sometime?

Coastal Seafoods usually has oysters. I got a batch from there that was so fresh I found other little crustaceans swimming around in the grooves of the shell.

Not sure if they are available all the time. Since they are dependent on things being shipped in fresh, it is always a good idea to call ahead of time, even though I’d be willing to bet fresh oysters are always in stock. They have a variety of them as well.
